The Barn
-
The handmade indoor fireplace is a central feature of the Barn and is there to be enjoyed during your stay. We provide you a bag of start kindling and firewood in our winter months. This bag of kindling is enough to start 3-4 fires over your weekend stay. More can be purchased in town.
Please use the fireplace with care:
Do not cook food (including marshmallows) in the fireplace
Do not place items on or around the fireplace
Please do not adjust the flue
Ensure the fire is fully extinguished before leaving it unattended
We kindly ask that the area is kept clean and tidy, and that no items are left on or around.
-
Slow mornings are best enjoyed here.
You’ll find a Sunbeam espresso machine with coffee beans provided to get you started. For longer stays or larger groups, we recommend bringing extra beans so everyone can enjoy their morning coffee over looking Mt Buller. Or grab yourself a bag of beans from Mansfield Coffee Merchant on your way through town - the best in the region.
Tea and sugar are also available in the cupboard for something a little more relaxed.
-
A selection of natural hand wash, body wash, shampoo and conditioner is provided for your stay.
Each guest is supplied with fresh towels to ensure a comfortable and easy stay.
-
Beds are prepared with fresh, commercially laundered linen for your arrival.
Towels and bathmats are supplied to ensure a comfortable stay.
-
The outdoor fire pit is available for your enjoyment during your stay.
Please take care when using the fire pit and never leave it unattended. Keep children at a safe distance at all times, and ensure the fire is fully extinguished after use.
We kindly ask that the area is left clean and tidy for the next guests.
-
The Barn is fitted with hydronic underfloor heating, creating a consistent and comfortable warmth throughout the home (set to approximately 20–21°C).
For added comfort, there are split systems, ceiling fans, and a fireplace available.
To ensure everything runs smoothly, we recommend not using all split systems simultaneously, as this may cause the power to trip. If the home feels too warm, simply opening the windows will help balance the temperature.
Please feel free to reach out if you need any assistance during your stay.
-
Bins are located in the carport for your convenience.
We kindly ask that all rubbish is placed in the bins prior to departure, and that any cardboard is broken down for recycling.
-
As Coombs Hill Barn sits within a working farm, gates and fencing are an important part of the property.
If you open any gates, including the main gate at Buttercup Road and the gate at the top of the driveway, please ensure they are closed securely behind you to keep cattle safely contained.
-
Please note that Coombs Hill Barn is not suitable for pets. Due to allergies and as this is a working farm with livestock and native wildlife, pets are not permitted.
-
oombs Hill Barn is situated on a working farm. By staying at the property, guests acknowledge that they are entering a rural environment which includes livestock, native wildlife, dams (open water), fencing, and uneven terrain.
